About My Visual Diary…
My Visual Diary is a personal and evolving record of my photographic journey; part sketchbook, part journal, and part exhibition space. Through a mix of images, reflections, and behind-the-scenes insights, I share both works in progress and finished pieces.
I’ve spent years immersed in the world of photography, not just as a photographer but as a writer and editor exploring the work of others. Now, I want to open up my own process and share the journey as it unfolds.
This is a space for process, exploration, and the raw, unfiltered side of making photographs.
Photography isn’t just about the final image; it’s about everything that leads to it. The ideas, the ones that fail, the experiments, the moments of breakthrough and clarity. My Visual Diary documents that journey, combining images, writings, and reflections on creativity. Think of it as an open notebook, a place to share works in progress, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and finished pieces.
My practice unfolds in two parts:
First, a weekly visual diary; a short-form zine published every Sunday that captures moments from throughout my week. These posts pair black-and-white images with diaristic prose, inviting slow looking and quiet reflection.
Second, long-form fine art projects rooted in landscape, memory, and symbolism; work developed over time, aimed at gallery exhibitions, books, and prints.
This Substack holds both halves of that practice in tension, a space for steady, intentional creation without distraction.
More than that, I want this to be a space for engagement, a community for like-minded creatives passionate about photography and the creative process. Whether you’re here to follow along, share your own experiences, or simply find inspiration, I’d love for this to be a conversation, not just a monologue.
If this resonates with you, subscribe and join me.
